Growing More Joy in Motherhood with a Group!

Out of so much love for and vetted experience with the radical power of self-compassion, I’m excited to share that I’m launching a new offer that brings the opportunity to learn and grow this skill to other moms and all of you!

Beginning the week after Mother’s Day, my virtual Moms in Bloom group will officially be running as a weekly source of support where moms can connect, find community, and learn ways to grow more self-compassion around topics that are specific to the motherhood season of life.

Why learn about and practice self-compassion?

Having a sacred glimpse at the front lines of motherhood and into the lives of my clients every week (for nearly five years now!), and also by living through my own personal struggles as a mother, I know very well what some of the most vulnerable themes and tender topics needing more love can be for many moms. Feelings of shame, guilt and inadequacy might as well be synonymous with motherhood!

And while the sleep deprivation, body changes, and loss of freedom are all pretty intense – I’m convinced that it’s really our self-esteem and self-worth that take the hardest hit in those early years of parenting (when many of us are just beginning to re-parent our self at the same time).

Even though I understand that all the experiences of motherhood and early adjustment to parenting are incredibly hard, complex and disorienting for every new (or new again) mom – I’ve learned in my own healing journey that they key to thriving as a mother is really quite simple –

More Self-Compassion.

Self-compassion is a skill, and also a mindset. It’s a way of relating to yourself with more love, kindness, and acceptance that ultimately reduces your stress level and improves your quality of life. And for new (or new again) moms who particularly struggle with all they expect of themselves but also hate about those challenges of early motherhood – it’s a critical lifeline.

That’s why I feel passionate about bringing more awareness of this concept to other moms, and I model it daily in every session with a mom client! It’s why I too have now decided to offer a more focused outlet where mothers can learn about this skill, begin to practice it, and integrate more self-compassion around relevant topics to your own daily lives for more joy and ease as a mom.

What to expect from the group?

The group will have a weekly theme that I will continually share a schedule for (don’t forget to sign up for my newsletter!). In each group, I will facilitate a discussion related to the topic and an experiential activity that supports practice and growth in self-compassion for it. Examples of experiential activities will include reflective prompts, journaling, meditations, and opportunities to share and hear others’ personal experiences to empower one another as a community of growing mothers.

 What will the group cover?

Topics for each weekly group will vary, but always relate to your motherhood experience. I also welcome your feedback and suggestions if you have ideas or themes that you’re struggling with and could use more compassion for. Examples of my Moms in Bloom group topics include postpartum, parenting, boundaries, relationships, body image, infant feeding, sleep training, support systems, and mothering in a patriarchal society – just to name a several few!

When and where does the group meet?

The group will be offered weekly on Wednesdays from 11:00-12:30 EST via zoom, with a link that will be shared with you for each week that you register. Because the group is virtual, you can meet from anywhere that is most convenient and comfortable to you, by using any laptop, computer or mobile smart device with a camera.

While your video participation won’t be a requirement, and I always encourage you to take care of yourself in whatever way you need – I invite participants to meet with cameras on for a greater sense of community and connection with other moms (like you!) in the group.

Recordings of the group will also be available if your plans change last minute, or you want to go back and review any of the material we cover!

How Do I Sign Up?

Check out my group page on my website, or be on the lookout for my newsletter with the schedule for upcoming group topics. Decide which ones feel the most relevant and supportive to you, and reach out to me with questions or to reserve your spot!

You can email hello@motherbloomwellness.com, text 828-407-0324, or fill out the contact/registration form on my group page here.

That’s it! I’ll give you all the directions you will need and the group meeting link for your registration at that time.

Are you ready to feel more joy and ease in life as a new (or new again) mom?

It’s really not as difficult as you may think. It starts with an intention and willingness to love yourself first in some small way – then for a short hour of time each week, with supportive guidance from me. I’m so ready to help you more compassionately and confidently navigate the shadowy landscape that is motherhood’s hardest struggles.

Reach out today with any questions (or suggestions!) you have about the group, or to get started with your first sign-up!
